Pope Paul II

Pope Paul II, who served from 1464 to 1471, continued the work on the new St. Peter's Basilica after the death of Pope Nicholas V, demonstrating commitment to the project initiated by his predecessor, although he ultimately entrusted its completion to architect Giuliano da Sangallo.
