Priyanto

Priyanto is the chairman of the Taruna Bina Mandiri Producers Cooperative in East Kutai, Indonesia. He plays a crucial role in the banana farming sector, particularly in exporting the gepok grecek variety. With his cooperative, he has successfully exported bananas to various countries, including the United States, Singapore, and Japan, despite facing challenges such as high shipping costs and recent tariffs imposed by the U.S. government. As a representative of over 680 local farmers, Priyanto is currently negotiating with U.S. buyers to mitigate the impact of a 32 percent tariff on Indonesian imports introduced by President Donald Trump.
