Radislav Krstic is a former Serbian general who became the first individual convicted of genocide for his role in the Srebrenica massacre of 1995, where thousands of Bosniak Muslims were killed. He was arrested in 1998 and sentenced to 35 years in prison by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in 2004. Initially incarcerated in the UK, he was later transferred to Poland after an attack on him in 2013. Recently, it was announced that he will serve the remainder of his sentence in Estonia, which has agreed to take over his imprisonment until his release in 2033.
