Rahmanullah Lakanval

Rahmanullah Lakanval is an Afghan national who gained attention following a shooting incident in Washington, D.C., which resulted in the injury of two members of the National Guard. He had entered the United States in September 2021 under a program established by the Biden administration to evacuate Afghan allies after the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. CIA confirmed his prior cooperation with U.S. military units during the Afghan war. After the incident, he was apprehended and remains in custody.
