He had a distinguished career, serving as the Secretary of Economy, Planning, and Development and as President of the Senate from 1998 to 2001. Alburquerque was known for his strong political positions and his influential role in the establishment of the Modern Revolutionary Party. He gained public attention for his candidacy for the presidency for the term 2024-2028 and was recognized for his memorable phrase 'Entren to' during political confrontations. Sadly, he passed away recently after battling liver cancer.
