Ren Quanniu

Ren Quanniu is a disbarred human rights lawyer in China who has been an outspoken critic of the Chinese Communist Party's tightened control over the legal profession, particularly following the 2015 crackdown on rights lawyers known as the '709 incident'. He argues that the current environment for human rights law in China has regressed to a level comparable to the Cultural Revolution era, making it nearly impossible for lawyers to defend citizens' rights.
