René Belmonte Aguilar, known as 'El Rino', is a regional leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) who was arrested by local police in Uruapan, Michoacán, in late August 2025, which is believed to be a catalyst for a wave of violence, including the subsequent assassination of Uruapan's mayor, Carlos Manzo Rodríguez.
