Ricardo Cavalcanti

Ricardo Cavalcanti is a physician and educator who currently serves as the director-general of the Hospital da Santa Casa de Misericórdia in Rio de Janeiro. With over 40 years of involvement with the institution, he is also a professor and coordinator at the Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Unirio) and president of the Instituto Carlos Chagas. Under his leadership, the Santa Casa is undergoing significant renovations aimed at restoring its historical significance and enhancing its medical services, with a vision to modernize the institution while maintaining its rich legacy in healthcare and education.
