Richard Hunziker

Major General Richard Hunziker was a U.S. Army officer who played a significant role in the cleanup operation following the 1968 Thule Air Base incident in Greenland, where a B-52 bomber carrying nuclear weapons crashed. He led the extensive effort to recover radioactive material and mitigate environmental damage from the accident, which was one of the most significant nuclear mishaps during the Cold War.
