Romito 1

Romito 1 is a prehistoric individual, approximately 12,000 years old, discovered in the Grotta del Romito in Southern Italy. She was found buried alongside another individual, Romito 2, in an embrace, suggesting a close familial relationship. Recent genetic analysis revealed that she was likely the mother of Romito 2 and exhibited a genetic variant associated with moderate short stature.
