Ronald Carreño

Ronald Carreño is a Venezuelan journalist who has been detained as part of a broader crackdown on press freedom in the country. He is among the 13 journalists currently imprisoned in Venezuela, where the National College of Journalists (CNP) has reported alarming conditions, including arbitrary arrests and a systematic persecution of media workers. His arrest occurred in the context of increasing repression following the controversial presidential elections of July 2024.
