
Rónald Marín Durán
Rónald Marín Durán is a retired Costa Rican footballer known for being part of the national team during the historic 1990 FIFA World Cup in Italy. Although he did not play in the tournament, his contributions as a central defender were recognized by coach Bora Milutinovic. Marín's career began at Club Sport Herediano, where he won a championship in 1985, and later played for Cartaginés and Alajuelense. His career ended abruptly at the age of 32 when he received a 16-match suspension after an incident during a national clásico, which led him to retire from professional football. Today, he works in a security role and cherishes his family life, actively participating in his community and expressing gratitude for his past achievements.
