Ronald Rwakatare

Ronald Rwakatare is a Tanzanian transportation expert and former Director of the Dar Rapid Transit Agency (Dart), who played a pivotal role in the launch of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system in Dar es Salaam in 2016. Under his leadership, the project aimed to alleviate chronic congestion in the city but has since faced significant challenges, including a shortage of operational buses and a flawed ticketing system. His tenure is marked by the transition from initial optimism to widespread criticism regarding the project's failure to meet its original goals.
