Roscoe Tanner

Roscoe Tanner is an American former professional tennis player, born on October 15, 1951, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He gained prominence in the 1970s for his powerful serve and strong baseline game, reaching a career-high singles ranking of World No. 4. Tanner is well-remembered for his success at the Australian Open, where he won the singles title in 1977. His career was marked by notable matches against top players and he also contributed to the United States Davis Cup team during his tenure.
