Rose Nitunga

Rose Nitunga is the head of the Governance and Rule of Law unit at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Burundi. She plays a pivotal role in initiatives aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs, particularly in overcoming structural barriers to accessing public procurement opportunities. Recently, she facilitated a training session for 38 women on the use of the Quantum platform, which is essential for bidding on UNDP contracts. Nitunga advocates for the importance of women's participation in the economy, emphasizing that developing women's skills not only benefits families but also contributes to the overall development of the country. Her efforts are part of a broader goal to enhance female leadership in economic spheres traditionally dominated by men.
