Rudolf de Habsburg
Rudolf de Habsburg, born in 1858, was the last Crown Prince of Austria-Hungary and the only son of Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth. He is best known for his tragic love affair with Maria Vetsera, which culminated in their deaths in an incident at Mayerling in 1889, a scandal that rocked the Austro-Hungarian Empire and is often linked to the tensions leading up to World War I.
