Sara Timb is a young Cameroonian poet and activist who recently participated in the 9th World Congress Against the Death Penalty held in Paris. Selected as one of nine global youth ambassadors for the abolition of the death penalty, she paid tribute to Robert Badinter, a key figure in the movement against capital punishment in France. During the congress, she delivered a tribute in Tunen, one of Cameroon’s linguistic heritages, showcasing her commitment to promoting cultural heritage and human rights. Engaging in discussions alongside French President Emmanuel Macron and other youth leaders, Timb emphasized the importance of youth involvement in advocating for justice and human dignity, believing that local experiences can significantly contribute to international dialogues on these critical issues.
