Sergey Govorun

Sergey Govorun, a former archimandrite, gained attention after the Russian Ministry of Justice stripped him of his clerical status due to violations of church rules. Born in Ukraine, he has held significant roles within the Russian Orthodox Church and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Moscow Patriarchate, and he co-authored a critical declaration on the concept of the 'Russian world' which challenged its ideological underpinnings.
