Sergey Ilyin

Sergey Ilyin was the commander of the 155th Brigade of the Russian Marine Corps, which was implicated in war crimes during the occupation of the Kyiv region, particularly in the towns of Bucha, Hostomel, and Irpin. He was reported to have died on July 2, 2023, during a strike by Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region, alongside Major General Mikhail Gudkov. The 155th Brigade has been a focal point of international scrutiny due to allegations of severe human rights violations against civilians during the conflict.
