
Serghei Jirnov
Serghei Jirnov is a former KGB officer and a contemporary of Vladimir Putin, who was born in Moscow in 1961. After completing his education at the Andropov Institute of the KGB in 1987, he rose through the ranks to become a commander in the KGB by 1991. Following the dissolution of the KGB, Jirnov transitioned into civilian life as a journalist, educator, and international consultant. He has been an outspoken critic of Russia's aggressive tactics and has provided insights into the hybrid warfare strategies employed by the country, particularly in relation to its activities in Europe.
