Shanthy Sukuneswaran is a Tamil woman from Sri Lanka who, after enduring the devastating civil war in her homeland, lost her brother, Santhakumar, to a racially motivated attack in Switzerland in 1990. At the time of her brother's death, she was pregnant and raising three young children in a war-torn environment. After her brother's tragic fate, Shanthy eventually fled to Switzerland with her family in search of safety and a new life. Now in her 60s, she has become a grandmother multiple times and continues to grapple with the loss of her brother and the legacy of violence against Tamils in Switzerland.
