Sikander Ali

Sikander Ali is a Pakistani laborer originally from the rural district of Dadu, who has faced multiple displacements due to severe flooding, most recently in 2022. After losing his makeshift home, he returned to the Sindhabad slum on the outskirts of Karachi with his large family of ten children. Currently employed at a hotel in Karachi, Sikander earns a modest daily wage, but he believes that life in the city offers better opportunities for his children compared to their previous life in the countryside, where they faced debt and servitude.
