Sofiane Sehili is a 44-year-old French endurance cyclist who transitioned from a career as a documentalist in 2012 to pursue long-distance cycling. He has participated in around twenty major races, achieving victory in eleven of them, including the prestigious Tour Divide, a grueling 4,500 km race from Canada to the Mexican border. Recently, he made headlines after being detained in Vladivostok, Russia, while attempting to set a world record for crossing Eurasia by bicycle, having started his journey from Lisbon on July 1. He faced legal issues related to crossing the Russian border, drawing attention to his adventure and the challenges faced by long-distance cyclists.
