Stefan Nemanja was a Serbian prince and the founder of the Nemanjić dynasty, reigning in the late 12th century. He is remembered for his significant role in the establishment of the Serbian state and the Serbian Orthodox Church. Under his leadership, Serbia expanded its territory and influence, and he is often regarded as a key figure in the medieval history of Serbia. After his abdication, he became a monk and was canonized as Saint Simeon, contributing to the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Serbian people.
