Tassos Papadopoulos

Tassos Papadopoulos (1934-2011) was a prominent Cypriot politician who served as President of Cyprus from 2003 to 2008. Known for his strong stance on the Cyprus issue, he was a key figure in the negotiations surrounding the Annan Plan for reunification. Papadopoulos was a member of the Democratic Party and previously held various ministerial roles, including Minister of Finance. His presidency was marked by efforts to strengthen the Republic of Cyprus's international standing and to advocate for the island's sovereignty.
