Telésforo Quirita

Telésforo Quirita was a Peruvian soldier who fought in the War of the Pacific (1879-1883) and claimed to have met the heroic Colonel Francisco Bolognesi. He became notable in 1959 at the age of 119 for his participation in a national fundraising campaign to support the Peruvian Navy, showcasing his patriotism and dedication to his country. Despite living in solitude and longing for his missing son, Quirita remained a symbol of resilience and national pride until his passing.
