Tetiana Yankovska

Tetiana Yankovska is a 65-year-old Ukrainian retiree who survived a recent Russian airstrike in the village of Markhalivka, southwest of Kyiv. She expressed her harrowing experience of the attack, which left her community in ruins and resulted in casualties, including children. Having fled her hometown of Avdiivka in February 2022, which is now under Russian control, Yankovska's story highlights the ongoing human toll of the conflict in Ukraine.
