Theodoros Charitopoulos was a prominent Greek political figure and a close associate of Konstantinos Karamanlis, the founder of New Democracy. He served as Karamanlis's trusted aide from 1960 until Karamanlis's death in 1998, and was known for his loyalty and discretion. Charitopoulos followed Karamanlis into exile in Paris, where they formed a strong bond. His dedication to Karamanlis earned him the reputation of being his shadow, as he remained a steadfast confidant throughout the turbulent years of Greek politics. Charitopoulos, originally from Mykonos, also served as a municipal councilor in his hometown.
