Thuraiya Makame

Thuraiya Makame is a talented secondary school student from Mpapa Secondary School in Zanzibar, who gained national recognition for co-developing a prototype ballot-counting machine aimed at enhancing the efficiency of vote tallying in Tanzania. Alongside her classmate Jorim Buntu, she showcased their innovation during the 2025 ICT Training for Girls program, emphasizing the importance of empowering girls in technology and advocating for increased support in ICT education.
