Tony Hagen
Dr. Tony Hagen was a Swiss geographer and researcher who played a pivotal role in mapping Nepal's geography and promoting its cultural diversity. Born in 1917 in Lucerne, Switzerland, he arrived in Nepal in 1950 as part of a geological survey team and dedicated much of his life to exploring and documenting the country. Hagen is known for his extensive travels across Nepal, covering over 14,000 kilometers on foot, and for producing various works, including books and documentaries that introduced the world to Nepal's landscapes and cultures. His deep affection for Nepal led to his ashes being spread across the country's diverse terrains after his death in 2003.
