Hagen is known for his extensive travels across Nepal, covering over 14,000 kilometers on foot, and for producing various works, including books and documentaries that introduced the world to Nepal's landscapes and cultures. His deep affection for Nepal led to his ashes being spread across the country's diverse terrains after his death in 2003.
