
Toomas Siitan
Toomas Siitan is an esteemed musicologist and professor at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, where he has taught since 1986. He earned his composition degree from the same institution and later obtained a PhD in musicology from Lund University in Sweden. Siitan has served as the chairman of the Estonian Musicologists' Society and is the founder and artistic director of the Haapsalu Old Music Festival, which has been held since 1994. He is frequently invited to give lectures on the works of Arvo Pärt, exploring themes such as modernism, compositional techniques, and the theological dimensions of Pärt's music.
