Tor Grande

Tor Grande is the rector of NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) and has been a vocal advocate for changes in language requirements for foreign researchers in Norway. He expressed strong support for the government's recent decision to scrap the Norwegian language requirement for doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers, arguing that it is more beneficial to encourage international researchers to learn the language voluntarily rather than imposing it as a barrier.
