V. László
V. László, born on February 22, 1440, in Komárom, was a Hungarian king from the Habsburg dynasty. His reign was marked by political instability and power struggles, particularly with the Hunyadi family, who opposed his rulership. Crowned as an infant, László's governance was primarily influenced by others, notably the powerful military leader Hunyadi János. Despite being king, he faced significant challenges and was often considered a puppet ruler. His tragic death at the young age of 17 in 1457, under suspicious circumstances, led to a power vacuum in Hungary and paved the way for the rise of his successor, Mátyás Hunyadi, who became one of Hungary's most renowned kings. V. László is often viewed negatively in Hungarian history due to his perceived failures and the subsequent portrayal of his reign.
