Valdinei Ferreira

Valdinei Ferreira is a Brazilian Presbyterian pastor and theologian with over three decades of service in the Igreja Presbiteriana Independente do Brasil (IPIB). He recently gained attention for publishing a provocative article questioning the traditional narrative surrounding Judas Iscariot, which led to a significant backlash from conservative factions within the church and resulted in his temporary dismissal from a theological college where he had taught for 25 years. Ferreira is known for his critical stance on the political instrumentalization of religion and has authored 14 books on spirituality and Christian faith. He advocates for a more open dialogue about social issues within the church and emphasizes the importance of love over hate in resisting political authoritarianism.
