Valerie Wilms

Valerie Wilms is a former member of the German Bundestag who represented the Green Party from 2013 to 2021. Born male, she transitioned at the age of 41 and subsequently pursued a political career focused on transportation issues. In 2023, she publicly revealed her transgender identity in her autobiography "Meine zwei Leben" and expressed concerns about the current ideological trends in gender politics, which she believes could be detrimental to the acceptance of transgender individuals. Wilms' departure from the Green Party was a result of her discontent with its increasingly radical stance on climate and social issues.
