Vantara is a controversial megazoo in India that has recently been in the news following a Supreme Court ruling that cleared it of allegations related to wildlife trafficking and violations of international conservation laws. The zoo, funded by Indian oil magnate Mukesh Ambani, was opened in March 2025 and houses over 45,000 wild animals, including many endangered species. The ruling concluded that there was no evidence to support claims of illegal animal trade or smuggling.
