Verny Jiménez

Verny Jiménez is the director of the Division of Maritime and Port Affairs of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport in Costa Rica. He is currently involved in addressing the urgent need to dredge the estuary of Puntarenas, which has been severely affected by sedimentation, impacting navigation and local fisheries. Jiménez has emphasized the importance of conducting an environmental impact study before any dredging can take place, acknowledging the complexities and costs associated with such projects.
