Vicky Ortiz

Vicky Ortiz is a U.S. citizen originally from Mexico, who immigrated over 35 years ago. She initially worked in a meat-processing plant, one of the few job opportunities for non-English speakers at the time. After seven years, she pursued higher education and now serves as a librarian at the Dodge City Public Library. Ortiz is deeply concerned about the impact of deportation policies on migrant families in her community, including friends and loved ones who are undocumented.
