Víctor Hugo Zárate Pérez

Víctor Hugo Zárate Pérez is a former Ecuadorian police officer who served as the Comandante General of the Policía Nacional from August 2024 until May 2025, when he was relieved of his duties by the government. Prior to his appointment as the national police chief, Zárate held various positions within the police force, including leadership roles in Guayaquil. His tenure ended as part of a broader restructuring of the police leadership under President Daniel Noboa.
