Vincenzo Di Gennaro

Vincenzo Di Gennaro was a 47-year-old carabiniere who tragically lost his life on April 13, 2019, while on duty in Cagnano Varano. He was shot by a known criminal during a routine traffic stop, where he and his colleague were unexpectedly attacked. Di Gennaro was posthumously awarded the gold medal for civil valor in December 2019, recognizing his bravery and sacrifice in the line of duty.
