Voislav Torden

Voislav Torden, a 38-year-old individual, was recently sentenced to life imprisonment by the Helsinki District Court for his involvement in war crimes committed during the conflict in Ukraine. Torden was found guilty of leading a military group that ambushed and executed at least four wounded Ukrainian soldiers, among other serious charges related to wartime conduct. He was implicated in actions taken by a unit known as Rusitš, which operated alongside Russian-backed separatists in Luhansk, Ukraine. Despite his claims of innocence and denial of any leadership role, the court's findings highlighted the brutality of his actions, including the execution of incapacitated soldiers and the use of deceptive tactics against Ukrainian forces. Torden was arrested at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport in the summer of 2023.
