Waldemar Švábenský

Waldemar Švábenský is a Slovak graphic designer and photographer known for his advocacy for transgender rights following the tragic death of his son, Gabriel. In memory of Gabriel, who died by suicide in 2018, Waldemar founded the 'Svet podľa Gabriela' festival, which promotes awareness and support for the transgender community in Slovakia. As a creative professional, he has earned accolades for his design work, including an award for the most beautiful book in Slovakia in 2021. Waldemar openly shares his struggles with depression and the impact of losing his son, using his experiences to foster dialogue and support for marginalized communities.
