Walter Denz

Walter Denz is a Swiss entrepreneur who moved to Russia in 1992 during a period of significant transformation following the fall of the Soviet Union. He co-founded the language school Liden & Denz in St. Petersburg, which later expanded to Moscow, Irkutsk, and Riga. Denz has witnessed and documented the tumultuous changes in Russia over the decades, especially under Vladimir Putin's regime. His experiences and insights are captured in his upcoming book, which explores Russia's chaotic transition to a market economy and the rise of organized crime during the 1990s. Denz holds a Russian passport and continues to operate his schools in Russia amidst ongoing geopolitical tensions and conflict.
