Wang Hongwen was a Chinese politician and a member of the Gang of Four, known for his allegiance to Mao Zedong and his role in the Cultural Revolution. He rose to prominence as a young revolutionary leader but was arrested following Mao's death in 1976 and subsequently tried for his actions during the Cultural Revolution.
