Wathiq Abbas

Wathiq Abbas is a buffalo herder from the Al-Jabais marshes in southern Iraq, who has been severely affected by an unprecedented drought that has plagued the region since 1933. He reported significant losses in his herd, attributing them to the scarcity of fresh water and the consumption of brackish, stagnant water, which has led to a decline in the health of his animals.
