
Yang Xuecheng
Yang Xuecheng was a prominent figure in the Chinese resistance against Japanese aggression during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Born in 1915 in Hubei Province, he graduated from Tsinghua University in 1934. As the war escalated, he transformed from a quiet student into a passionate activist, leading anti-Japanese demonstrations and eventually joining the Communist Party. In 1938, he established the Hubei Youth Salvation Corps, mobilizing thousands in the fight against Japanese occupation. Yang's leadership and dedication to guerrilla warfare made him a key commander in the New Fourth Army, where he worked tirelessly until his untimely death at the age of 29 in 1944.
