Yanuar Nugroho
Yanuar Nugroho is an Indonesian academic and political activist known for his significant role in the Reformasi movement of 1998, which sought to end the authoritarian rule of the New Order regime. He served as the Deputy Head of the Presidential Staff Office in Indonesia from 2015 to 2019 and has been a vocal advocate for democratic reforms, transparency, and anti-corruption initiatives. Recently, he has been in the news for his warnings about the potential erosion of democratic gains in Indonesia as various laws and regulations are being reconsidered, raising concerns about the future of civil liberties and institutional integrity.
