Ye Htut

Ye Htut is a former high-profile army officer who served as Myanmar's information minister and presidential spokesperson during a previous military-backed government. He was arrested in October 2023 and sentenced to 10 years in prison for sedition and incitement due to his social media posts, which were deemed to spread false or inflammatory news. He was recently granted amnesty and released from Insein Prison as part of a government initiative to mark the 78th anniversary of Myanmar's independence.
