
Yuan Quan
Yuan Quan was a renowned Chinese engineer and chemist, recognized for his pioneering contributions to chemical engineering and membrane science. Born on November 2, 1934, in Shanghai, he graduated from Zhejiang University in 1956 and later received his graduate degree from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. During his illustrious career, he held various leadership positions at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, including director and academic committee chairman. As a founding figure in membrane science in China, he conducted groundbreaking research in areas such as precision distillation, heavy water separation, and membrane reactors, earning him numerous accolades, including the National Natural Science Award and the State Technological Invention Award. Yuan Quan passed away on October 29, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving behind a legacy of significant scientific advancements in chemical engineering.
