Zhang Dongju

Zhang Dongju is an archaeologist and professor at China’s Lanzhou University, known for her work in paleoanthropology. She has contributed to the study of Denisovan fossils and their molecular signatures, emphasizing the significance of the preservation of proteins in ancient specimens. Though she did not participate in the recent study of the Penghu 1 jawbone, her insights into fossil preservation are valuable in understanding Denisovan remains.
